Dental Fillings: - Necessary for Lasting You’re Teeth

Dental Filling

First of all, let’s go back to see the day when you were born. As a newborn baby, there were no dangerous bacteria inside of your mouth. As you grew older and became a child, bacteria found its way into your mouth. It may possibly happen when your mom kissed you or when you licked the floor as a baby. In any case, these germs have now set up permanently residence inside of your mouth & you will have to be deal with them for the rest of your life.
These germs live on your teeth. Every time when you eat something that they enjoy eating, such as ice-cream, candy, which means you provide food for them. Feeding these little creatures does not sound like such a bad thing. After eating, bacteria produce a very strong acid that eats away at your teeth. If you do not remove this sticky layer of bacteria by flossing and brushing, the bacteria will keep destroying a little amount of your tooth structure every day until you get a hole in your tooth

Our bodies have the amazing capability to repair injured structures. For example, when we fracture a bone, our body is capable to heal the bone by creating new cells that join the bone back together. Unfortunately, this is not true when it comes to our teeth. Although we get two sets of teeth in our life, once a whole forms in a tooth, the body cannot repair it. Long time ago, cavities ultimately caused people so much pain that they would have the tooth removed. But now, modern dentist has found a way to let you keep your decayed teeth. All things needs to be done are to have the bacteria efficiently removed and then to replace the hole in the tooth with a hard, tooth-like material which is known as a dental filling.
There are a variety of different materials which can be used for filling teeth.  This article, I will only discuss the two most common filling materials, which are amalgam & composite resin.
Amalgam Fillings
Amalgam fillings are more usually known as silver or mercury fillings. They are made up of zinc, silver, copper, tin, and mercury. Amalgam fillings have been used for over 180 years in the field of dentistry. When the metals are amalgam come together, they are form a soft material which can be used to build your tooth back to its original form. After a few minutes, the amalgam is going to be hardened as the metals integrate together. While pure mercury is toxic, the mercury originates in amalgam a filling is locked inside when the filling hardens and is therefore not harmful.
Composite Fillings
Composite resin fillings are more usually known as white fillings, tooth-colored fillings, & direct veneers. They are made up of very small pieces of silica bounded by plastic resin .Composite fillings are latest one than amalgam fillings and are continuously improving. The composite resin is concerning the consistency of modeling clay. In organize for the composite to harden; the dentist shines a bright blue light on it. Through a composite Fillings series of chemical reactions, this resin hardens into a very strong material which looks very much like a natural tooth.
